Oatly entered China in 2019 and is cooperating with lots of coffee shops, such as Seesaw、Little Bean and DOE. Currently, Oatly is cooperating with HeyTea in developing more oat milk tea products. Just over a year after entering the Chinese market, the oat plant-based protein brand from Sweden has set off a wave of oat trends in the coffee industry and attracted great attention from the whole catering industry.
Seesaw, Little Bean, DOE and more than 1,000 other coffee brands across the country have started cooperating with Oatly. OATLY and Heytea have launched its first oat milk product, Oat milk Bobo, now selling in stores in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.
The reason why Oatly cooperates with coffee shops, such as Wagas, SeesawCoffee, Hunter-gatherer, Pacific coffee, Manner and Fisheye, is the fast development rate of coffee shops in China. Mr. Toni Petersson, the CEO of Oatly, would like to introduce better plant-based protein products for Chinese consumers in coffee shops, where consumers are already familiar with the venue and the products and it is easy to introduce and educate them about new plant-based products. Mr. Petersson also believes that the Chinese market is to become the biggest market of Oatly in 3-5 years.
