Denmark launches the world’s first national action plan to promote plant-based foods

Denmark recently released an action plan detailing its goals for the transition to a plant-based food system, the first time a national government in the world has been launched. This is part of Denmark's climate agriculture initiative to reduce food emissions, announced in 2021, which, in addition to increasing exports, will promote plant-based foods in school meals through chef training.

The Danish Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries' plan includes training cooks in public and private kitchens on plant-based meals and greater emphasis on plant-based diets in schools and education systems . . .
