Tim Hortons got Tencent investment - food tech news in asia

On May 12, Canadian quick-service coffee chain Tim Hortons announced it received an investment from Chinese social networking and gaming giant Tencent, without disclosing the size of the investment amount.

Tim Hortons said on its social media account (Weibo) that the new funding would be used to further expand in China, including upgrade digital infrastructure, such as WeChat Mini Program, and open more stores in China. Tim Hortons entered China in February 2019; it currently has 50 locations . . .
