What is bubble tea?

Bubble tea, also known as pearl milk tea, bubble milk tea, or boba tea, is originated in Taiwan in the 1980s. Unlike coffee, which has been a status symbol for China’s white-collar elite, bubble tea in China attracts the younger generation. They are willing to pay 20 to 40 RMB (US$3 to US$6) for a cup of bubble tea that may include cheese topping or fruit.
