In 2020, the Chinese standard for plant-based meat will be published by Plant-Based Foods Alliance China, including the standards for vegan meat, plant-based meat and cell-grown meat. These standards main purpose is to achieve better development of plant-based meat in China, including ingredients, nutrition value, flavor, taste and quality.

The meat market in China will reach 38 million tons by 2050. There must be synergy between plant-based meat, cell-grown meat and traditional meat products to address the meat shortage in the future. More food technologies are needed in order to . . .
